Join City Organist John Kitchen for his popular lunchtime concerts on the world renowned Usher Hall organ with its magnificent sound. Whether performing organ classics, adapting classical and other music or playing audience requests, John's inimitable performances and conversation will delight.

Toccatas and scherzos
John’s programme will present some lesser-known toccatas, including the Toccata in E minor by the Belgian composer Callaerts and Percy Fletcher’s Festival Toccata. John will also play some light-hearted scherzos, including Will o’ the wisp by Gordon Balch Nevin, and the Rondo con imitazione de campanelli by Morandi

with guest organists JOSEPH BEECH and ANDREW FORBES
A not-to-be-missed recital of organ duets, played by two brilliant young organists. Come and enjoy the spectacular sound of four hands and four feet at the organ! Their programme will include Gustav Merkel’s Sonata for organ duet, and arrangements of ‘Jupiter’ from Holst’s The Planets and the final movement from Saint-Saëns’s ‘Organ’ Symphony.

John’s Summer Serenade programme includes well-known favourites such as Ronald Binge’s Elizabethan Serenade, Hollins’s Song of sunshine, and Eric Coates’s By the sleepy lagoon.
