Join City Organist John Kitchen for his popular lunchtime concerts on the world renowned Usher Hall organ with its magnificent sound. Whether performing organ classics, adapting classical and other music or playing audience requests, John's inimitable performances and conversation will delight.

MONDAY 20 APRIL at 1.10pm

Music by Edward Elgar

Elgar’s great Organ Sonata in G is his only substantial original work for the organ, and this concert will include movements from it.  Fortunately,  much of Elgar’s other music sounds well in organ transcription, and the recital  will include  excerpts from the Enigma Variations, two of the Vesper Voluntaries, and favourites such as Salut d’Amour  and Pomp and Circumstance March no. 4.

MONDAY 27 APRIL at 1.10pm

A nostalgic concert of lighter music

This concert will feature pieces by the celebrated light music composers Alfred Ketèlbey and  Eric Coates.  Also included will be Edwin Lemare’s Andantino in D flat (better known as ‘Moonlight and roses’) and Michael Thomson’s entertaining Salute to Busby Berkeley

MONDAY 4 MAY at 1.10pm

Another concert of audience requests.

John will once again be looking for  more suggestions from audience members!
