Wheelchairs spaces

Our wheelchair provision changes depending on the event, so we can offer our visitors the best experience possible. The number of which depends on the layout of the auditorium. There is a maximum of 10 spaces in the Stalls and two in the Grand Circle. 4 spaces are the maximum in the Stalls if that area is all standing - a platform will be in place to accommodate the 4 wheelchair users and the 4 essential companions. And while some of our bar areas aren’t fully accessible, we have plenty of staff on hand to take your drinks orders and bring them to you.

It is not currently possible to book wheelchair spaces online.

To enquire about wheelchair bookings for any event at the Usher Hall, email customer.enquiries@usherhall.co.uk with your requirements and one of our Box Office staff will be in contact to assist.

Hearing Loop

There’s a loop system in place for hearing aid users (switch your hearing aid to the T position)

Assistance dogs

Assistance dogs are very welcome, please let us know if you wish someone to look after the dog during the performance.

Level Access

You’ll find level entry to the ground floor on the Grindlay Street side of the building’s new wing, and lift access to all levels of the hall.

Upper circle

It’s worth noting that the Upper Circle isn’t suited to anyone with mobility issues, difficulty climbing stairs, vertigo or a fear of heights.

Arriving by taxi/car

If you have limited mobility or use a wheelchair, we’d recommend that you travel to Grindlay Street, which is where you’ll find the level access podium.  You’ll find free parking for blue badge holders across from the Royal Lyceum Theatre on Grindlay Street and outside the Traverse Theatre on Cambridge Street — but please remember that there are three other venues nearby, and there may be high demand for these spaces.
